Aluminized heat resistant clothing is regulated by UNI EN ISO 11612 and is classified as category III PPE. The risk related to this standard is in fact very high: these garments guarantee protection from extreme exposure to radiant heat, splashes of aluminium or molten iron and convective heat.
Aluminized heat resistant clothing is used by qualified workers,such as firefighters, in particular situations:
In the presence of enveloping flames;
In situations requiring the crossing of enveloping flames;
During interventions in specific firefighting and high-risk rescue situations
In order to ensure protection for the whole body, heat-resistant and flameproof clothing must be combined with accessories for head, hand and foot protection.
Aluminised garments are composed of three different layers (outer, intermediate, inner) which specific tasks:
- The outer layer is mirrored with an aluminized coating that reflects 95% of the radiant heat and can withstand temperatures above 1000°C.
- The intermediate layer is made with several layers of fireproof carbon felt, which can withstand temperatures up to 800°. The flame retardant carbon felt guarantees softness and lightness.
- The layer in contact with the skin (the third and innermost layer) is instead in viscose which guarantees softness and comfort, without compromising thermal insulation also in this case, thanks to the presence of an aramidic component.
We supply the full range of aluminized clothing: tracksuit, trousers, jackets, shirts, aprons, and aluminized accessories: gloves, proximity hoods and boots.
